Taiwan officially known as the Republic of China (ROC) is a state in East Asia. The government of the Republic of China was founded on the Constitution of the ROC and its Three Principles of the People. Taiwan has had a growing economy and a quick industrialization. Currently Taiwan has a dynamic, capitalist, export-driven economy with gradually decreasing state involvement in investment and foreign trade. The Healthcare in Taiwan is mainly governed by Department of Health by Executive Yuan which is the main administration of the government of ROC. The health care system in Taiwan is a compulsory social insurance plan known as the National Health Insurance (NHI) which was instituted in 1995. This centralizes the disbursement of health care funds throughout the state among all the population. NHI payment system is via a global budget which is based on a pay roll tax and is supplemented by direct government funding and out-of-pocket payment.
